No Juice March 28, 2008 Would have been great if they had sent the 2 batteries listed in the add. Instead they sent a bare tool, no batteries. Now they want $120.00 more for the batteries. Don't buy from Max Tool
Wrench gets the job done April 5, 2007 I also bought the wrench as an emergency lug nut wrench, for long trips. I have only used it on a few lugnuts (to test it) and it worked. With a nicad battery tool you must keep the batteries charged,or else you will need it in an emergency and the tool wil be dead. Dewalts 300 ft lb claim shouldn't be taken seriously, because the power begins to fade as soon as the rocker switch is activated. For real power you still need a cord. For me this wrench gets the job done. It cost me only 135 on EBAY. (baretool)
DW059: Good Choice January 5, 2007 I bought the DW059 for an emergency impact for changing tires and working on farm equipment where there is no power or air. So far has worked great and saved many pulled muscles and skinned knuckles.
Great "cordless" impact wrench January 4, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great cordless impact wrench. Notice I said cordless whenever you have a few lags to sink or nuts to tighten this is it. The batteries last a long time 70 3' 3/8" lags into redwood on one charge which is great compred to everything else out there in its class the 36 volt Dewalt is even better but alot more expensive. This has nice balance and eventhough its heavy(every 1/2" impact wrench is heavy) it feels as good as possible in your hand. the rated 300 ft/lbs is a little generous but these estimates always are i tested on a torque reader at about 190 ft/lbs which should free almost all nuts(eventough most people overtighten things very few things rquire more than 100 ft/lbs to properly tighten )I ve had this for over two years and use it daily and its lasted no problems i just replaced the brushes more out of habit than need(i replace all brushes at least every two years if not more often, for 5 bucks you can make a tool last a lot longer). All this said if you have hundreds of lags a day to sink invest in a cordedbut for most jobs this is perfect
1/2" Impact Not as much torque as it is rated for. December 14, 2006 I bought this and I have not been impressed with the power. It is supposed to have 300ft/lbs of torque but I would estimate it is about half of that... more like 150 ft/lbs. It is not as powerful as the Snap-On cordless 1/2" Impact. It is bulky and very loud. It is not powerful enough to remove high torque bolts, and it is clumbsy and hard to fit in many places. It is good for lug nuts. The rocker trigger design is awkward and it is not variable speed like the Snap-On simple, conventional trigger assy. I love my other DeWalt 18V tools but this one was a disappointment.
