Factory-Reconditioned DEWALT D51844R Round Head Framing Nailer November 16, 2008 The nailer arrived and was as advertised. The price was a little higher than the cheap no name nailers, but well worth the extra money. I used the nailer to install Hardie plank siding using 2 1/2 inch nails. Since this application required flush nailing, I played with the settings and it ended up either too deep or above the surface. I then adjusted the air pressure and the depth adjustment and that came up with a good setting. The nailer seemed to jam if you let it get below about 4-5 nails. Keep the nailer fed, and jamming is eliminated. I used a PC pancake compressor and it kept up with me. I am not sure if a pro would require a higher capacity compressor.
All in all I am pretty happy with the nailer. I will use it in on continuation of the porch project where I build an Eon deck over the existing concrete floor.
Great deal November 10, 2008 I bought this item to construct a large storage shed. I only purchased it because it was priced so favorably, otherwise I would have swung a hammer. It arrived looking brand new and I drove hundreds of nails with no problems at all. The only thing you will need is a male connector for the air hose, this is not supplied with the tool.
This is a very nice tool at a very nice price, I couldn't be happier.
Wonderful! October 19, 2008 Item looks brand new, performs perfect. Best deal on a framing nailer I could find!
Works Great September 29, 2008 I will never go back to a framing hammer. This tool arrived in new condition. If it wasn't listed as reconditioned, I would have not realized it was reconditioned. Just completed the rough framing on a 16'x24' shop and the nailer worked great. We had a couple of jams but they were probably caused by the nails and not the gun because the last few nails were broke apart. Be careful with this gun, it is very powerful, if you shoot a nail at an angle too close to the edge it will go sailing. I rated this a 4 because I am fairly new to framing nailers so I am cautious to compare to other brands. Great product and excellent value.
Framing nailer September 7, 2008 Received in what appeared to be like new condition. When attempting to use it, the gun would not create enough pressure to completely sink the nail. Always left a 1/4 inch head, which needed to be finished off with a hammer. My compressor delivered 120# of force. Had to return it to seller. Disappointed, R. Rush
